These days, we’re flooded with content revolving around hustle culture and being a #girlboss on social media. It’s easy to feel guilty about not doing enough or not hustling hard enough, and as someone who has been down that path, let me tell you, it’s a dangerous game to play.

Hustling to make your dream a reality is admirable, no doubt, but you’ve also got to take care of your mental and physical wellbeing in the process. That’s why it’s so important to find your way to work-life harmony.

Once I cracked the code, I realized that paying more attention to my needs was the most productive thing I could do. When I started taking better care of myself, I began to perform better in all areas of my life!

Here’s how I did it:

I paid attention to my body and its reactions.

Once I started paying attention, I noticed that I was feeling tense, hypersensitive and restless all the time. When I asked myself ‘why’ and dug deeper, I realized that this was a reaction to me overcommitting and taking on too much. That’s when I knew I had to take a step back and reevaluate my priorities.

I put my passions first.

Take some time to reflect on what you’re truly passionate about. I love creating things, and that’s what I wanted to devote my energy towards. That gave me a new perspective on work and I became more selective to what I said ‘yes’ to.

I did less to make more time for myself.

If your plate is full, it’s impossible to magically create more time for yourself. Moving towards work-life harmony requires you to make a conscious effort to not overcommit, to not stretch yourself too thin. So ask yourself, is there anything on your calendar that you can forego or delegate to open up some time for yourself?

If you’re struggling to keep your head afloat as an entrepreneur, it’s time to stop and find your way to work-life harmony. Remember, taking care of yourself is the most productive thing you can do!

Let’s soar,
TW
