An organized workspace can be a total game changer. For me, it boosts my productivity and helps me get into a flow state. Disorganized chaos does the exact opposite, leaving me feeling frustrated and distracted.
Organizing your workspace sounds tedious, but trust me, it’s easier than you think. Here are some simple yet effective ways to organize your workspace to boost productivity:
1. Don’t put things down, put them away.
This is my mantra when it comes to keeping things organized. When I’m done using something, I don’t put it down, I immediately put it back where it belongs. You won’t believe how much clutter this simple practice can prevent!
2. Clear your desk at the end of each day.
Taking 5 to 10 minutes at the end of each day to clear my desk has done wonders for me. I’m greeted with a clean, organized desk the next day instead of a cluttered workspace that stresses me out. This helps me to start my day on the right foot and dive straight into work.
3. Invest in the right organizational tools.
Having the right organizational tools prevents clutter from building up in your workspace. It’s very hard to focus on work when there are piles of papers and other things strewn across your desk, mainly because they don’t have a designated place to go.
Recently, I worked with Target to launch a home office collection with tons of chic organizational tools such as trays, desk mats, file folders, baskets, and portfolios so everyone can have an organized workspace at an affordable price.
