Each April, I feel a gentle pull inward. A call to reflect, reset, and reconnect. That’s no coincidence. This month holds deep meaning across faith traditions—Ramadan, Passover, Easter, and more.
And for over a decade, I’ve honored this time with a personal ritual: spending Easter in Italy with my brother’s Italian family. If you’ve ever experienced Easter in Europe, you know it’s not about baskets or brunch reservations—it’s about connection. Presence. Joy.
I loved the six-hour dinners. The full tables. The laughter. The pause. That experience taught me that rituals aren’t about perfection—they’re about meaning.
This year, I’m stateside, but the ritual continues. My brother is here with us, and yes—the family dinner is still happening. Because rituals don’t depend on where you are. They depend on how you show up.
As a child, Easter was all about a fabulous dress and an even better basket. Now, I hold space for the deeper symbolism of the season—especially the Lenten season. To me, it represents a return to light. A movement out of winter’s introspection and into clarity, warmth, and hope.
And that’s what rituals can do for all of us—no matter our background or beliefs.
What’s one meaningful ritual you can return to—or create anew—this week?
Yours in the light,
