Over the past few weeks, I believe you have gained more clarity on the mission and vision of your business. These important fundamentals will guide your decision-making process as you develop your product idea and grow your business.
Now that you’ve set the foundation for your business, it’s time to iron out the details of your product. Start by answering these key questions:
As you design your product, consider the user experience in terms of convenience, portability, and function. It certainly helps to keep your ideal customer in mind as you develop your product idea.
Consider creating a survey on Facebook or using other online tools to better understand your target demographic. If you know anyone who experiences the problem your product aims to address, talk to them about their specific pain points. After a few insightful chats, ask yourself, “Will my product help them?”
If you can develop a rough prototype, consider getting their feedback on the product. What aspects of the product did they enjoy? What aspects could be improved? There’s nothing more valuable than getting input from potential customers!
Of course, if it’s a brand new idea yet to be patented or trademarked, it’s best to share it only with trusted family members or friends. We’ll get to that legal stuff a little later! Till then, keep those creative juices flowing and develop your killer product idea, one step at a time.
